Flying Pig Race Fundraiser Update

May 10, 2010

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Flying Pig races in Cincinnati this past weekend! We appreciate all who ran and everyone who cheered, even in the rain! Many runners raised money for Back2Back through generous donations from sponsors. Four Back2Back Mexico staff members and one of our Hope Program students completed the full marathon. Other staff and friends of the ministry completed the half-marathon and/or team relay. Check out the upcoming Back2Back Fall magazine for more details about the event. We will be having a Back2Back Flying Pig team for the race next year as well!

Beth Guckenberger, Abby Carlin and Chelsie Puterbaugh completed the Flying Pig relay

Matt Cooper, Back2Back Mexico staff, completed the full marathon

The Flying Pig Marathon is a city-wide race held annually in Cincinnati, Ohio.  This year, the race is scheduled for May 2, 2010 at 6:30 a.m. and this year, for the first time ever, Back2Back Ministries is organizing a team of runners to raise funds for the needs in our three ministry sites by asking people to sponsor, or “adopt” a runner!  To date, the team consists of Todd & Beth Guckenberger, Matt & Julie Cooper, Tim Couch, Kurt Kersey, and Antonio Garcia Espinosa.  Click here to find out how to join the team and become a Back2Back Pig!  Not a runner?  Sign-up to sponsor a runner here.
